Hello Crocker Community,

I grew up in Berkeley, CA, attended Berkeley public schools K-12 and got my B.A. from U.C. Berkeley.  I worked as an elementary school reading and math mentor through college and beyond, and eight years ago decided to go back to school to pursue a career in education.  I earned my Educational Therapy certification at Holy Names University, where I am currently completing my Master’s Degree in Education.  I am trained in the Orton-Gillingham approach to reading instruction, which is a an explicit, sequential, multi-sensory approach that was specifically designed to help struggling readers, including students with dyslexia.

At Crocker I support literacy instruction in Kindergarten classrooms; lead targeted, small-group instruction for first and second graders; and work one-on-one or in duos with the upper elementary students.  I work hard to provide patient, personalized support to all students, including those who learn differently.  One of the best parts of my job is collaborating with parents and teachers to provide the right support for each student.

I live with my husband and two daughters in Crocker Highlands.  My oldest daughter is a recent graduate of Crocker and is starting middle school at Edna Brewer.  My younger daughter is in second grade at Crocker.  We are all proud and grateful to be part of such a caring, inclusive community.
