Marta Krampitz-Dickson

Even though I was born and raised in the Midwest and East Coast, I have lived in Oakland for over twenty years and consider it my hometown. I’m the proud mother of three sons who keep me on my toes!

Before beginning my career as an educator, I worked as an art director and graphic designer. For the past sixteen years Piedmont Unified has been my working home, where I’ve had experience in multiple grade levels. Third graders have always been one of my favorite grades, and I am thrilled to begin teaching your students at Crocker this year.

My goals for our class are to motivate student learning by engaging curiosity in academic subjects through peer interaction, to challenge them to think more deeply about their own ideas as well as respect and listen to their peers. I want to form a community of third graders that celebrates the diversity of our community and supports all types of learners.

When I’m not teaching kids, I enjoy hiking local Bay Area regional parks, biking with my racing cyclist son, discussing novels with my book group and cooking with family and friends. I enthusiastically look forward to meeting your children and discovering what makes each of them unique!
