Born in Berkeley and raised in Vallejo, CA, India Ledward-Fuller has always had a passion for teaching and learning. She began her career in 2006 as a behavioral therapist working closely with autistic children to help them establish better social interaction, improve focus, and encourage learning. It was during this time that she realized her passion for working with kids. Former US Education Secretary, Arne Duncan once said“I believe that education is the civil rights issue of our generation. And if you care about promoting opportunity and reducing inequality, the classroom is the place to start. Great teaching is about so much more than education; it is a daily fight for social justice.” Not only does Mrs. Fuller wholeheartedly agree with the above, but it inspired her to turn her passion into a mechanism for social change. She became a classroom teacher in 2011, and has been on the path to equality ever since. Mrs. Fuller believes that the most rewarding aspect of her job is the opportunity to play a central role in teaching a child something for the first time, and sharing in their excitement about learning. Outside the classroom, she spends her time traveling and exploring different cultures. Mrs. Fuller graduated from the University of California, Davis with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and also holds a Master’s in Educational Leadership from Brandman University.
