E-Mail List Policy

The Crocker Yahoo Group is an e-mail forum maintained by the PTA. The following appropriate-use policy for the group was approved at the November 8, 2007  PTA meeting.

About the Crocker Yahoo Group

The Crocker Yahoo Group is a forum intended to help Crocker parents and faculty share timely information easily. The group currently has more than two hundred members, including Crocker families, faculty and administrative staff, prospective parents, alumni, neighbors, school board personnel and community leaders.

Crocker Yahoo Group Appropriate Use Policy

Postings are limited to topics that relate to Crocker Highlands Elementary School. Questions to the group are welcome, and there is room for diverging opinions, but ongoing disagreements or debate should be redirected elsewhere. Posts that advertise or promote commercial products or services are prohibited. Ad hominem attacks and abusive, obscene, or discriminatory language are prohibited. Concise posts are appreciated.

Please pause before posting and consider that this group is not anonymous and messages you send will be immediately received by over two hundred members of the group with your name attached. Please refrain from posting anything that you would not be comfortable saying directly to the other members on the school yard. This is not the forum to air personal grievances. Repeated violation of this Acceptable Use Policy may result in suspension from this group.

Crocker Yahoo Group Administration

The group is administered by the Crocker Highlands PTA. Postings are not moderated and not restricted. Membership requests currently require approval because the manual approval process thwarts spam, not because of any policy to exclude people from the group.
