Tours & Enrollment

Tour Information

Tours for prospective incoming families take place during November, December, and January.  Each tour will visit the kindergarten classrooms, as well as a visit the main areas of the school. There will be a brief Q&A session with the Kindergarten teachers and the principal after the tour. All tours will begin at 9:00 AM and are limited to 30 people.Tours are for all prospective families, kindergarten through 5th grade. The tours will make a point to visit all three kindergarten classrooms. If you are interested in seeing another grade level, please let your tour guide know.  They will try to accommodate a visit to a classroom at that grade level.Tours are for parents/guardians, though infants in a carrier or backpack are welcome.  Please keep in mind, tours will visit classrooms and we want to be considerate to learning environments in the classrooms. We encourage small children to stay at home or at daycare.See below in order to sign up for a tour.  If you have any questions, please contact the school office at 451-5900 or send us an email at tours@crockerschool.org.

UPDATE: we have completed all tours for new prospective parents. If you missed a tour and want to get a feel for Crocker we recommend the following:

1. Attend the Crocker PTA meeting on Thursday 1/12/2012 at 6:30 pm in the library. Great place to meet other parents, get a feel for what goes on at our school and ask questions.

2. Check out our Facebook Page & Twitter Feed. Great place to ask questions of the community and get answers from parents and staff. “Like” us on Facebook or “Follow” us on Twitter to get updates on what’s going on at school.

Tuesday tours will meet in the school library, Friday tours will meet in the art room.  Someone will be at the door to direct visitors! To sign-up for a tour below, please select the preferred date, number of visitors and click on “Register”

Enrollment Options
The School Options Open Enrollment Program requires all students to submit an application to attend a school in the fall, even if it is their neighborhood school. The open enrollment period begins in December and usually ends in mid-January. Check the Oakland Unified School District (OUSD) website for specific dates.

Crocker Highlands does not admit students from our school site. All admission requests and questions should be directed to the OUSD Student Assignment Office (510-434-7790). 2012/13 Enrollment Update:

Oakland Unified School District’s Options Enrollment Window for the 2012-13 School Year Begins Monday, December 5, 2011.  If you have an incoming kindergarten, sixth grade, or ninth grade student, or any other child who needs a new school for the 2011-12 school year, you must submit an application between December 5 and January 20.  Applications must be submitted in person to our Student Assignment Office at 2111 International Blvd, or to any OUSD school. Current fifth and eighth grade students should turn their applications into their current school. Applying within the window increases your chances of getting your school of choice and keeping siblings at the same school. For more information call  (510) 434-7752  ext. 224.
