[Updated 12/3/23]

Welcome! Crocker Highlands is a public school within Oakland Unified School District (OUSD).

All students attending an OUSD school for the first time must complete enrollment applications.  Applications for the 2024-2025 school year open on December 1, 2023. To get started with your online application, click here.

In order for your child to begin kindergarten in August 2024, your child must be 5 years old by September 1, 2024. Please note that Crocker Highlands does not have a TK class. For those parents looking for a TK program, please check the OUSD website.

Tour Information for 2024-2025

Throughout December 2023 and January 2024, both OUSD and Crocker Highlands Elementary School will be hosting tours and information sessions. At CHE, both in-person and virtual sessions will be held, led by Crocker Highlands Elementary School staff, member(s) of the PTA, and our school-community.

OUSD hosted virtual tour: December 6, 2023 from 5-6:30pm | Zoom Link

Crocker Highlands Elementary hosted tours:

  • Virtual tour: January 10, 2024 from 5-6:30pm | Zoom link TBD
  • In-person tours: December 8 & 15 2023 and January 19 & 26, 2024 from 9-10:30am

All are welcome; prospective families, kindergarten through 5th grade are invited to attend. Since most of the attendees will be parents of incoming kindergarten students, the tours will be geared primarily to that audience. However, we will also share information relevant to 1st – 5th grade families.

Enrollment Options

The School Options Open Enrollment Program requires all students new to OUSD, rising 6th and 9th graders, and all others who want to change schools, to submit an application to attend a school in the fall. In assigning students to schools, OUSD gives top priority to children with continuing siblings at the school. After that, Opportunity Ticket holders (children entering 1st – 5th whose school campuses are closing), neighborhood children, then children from other parts of the city get placed at the school. There is no guarantee that neighborhood children get into the closest school if there are more applicants than available spaces.

School sites have no role in assigning students to their schools. All admission requests and questions should be directed to the OUSD Student Welcome Center at (510) 434-7790. They are located at 746 Grand Avenue, and that phone number accepts both calls and texts.

If you have any questions about Crocker Highlands, please send us an email at tours@crockerschool.org or contact the school office at (510) 879-3111.
