Hello Families,
A short, wet week! Maybe wise to send an extra pair of socks or shoes to school with your child–several kids’ feet got soaked today!
A fun field trip is planned for Tuesday, February 23. The class gets to tour the new Semifreddi plant in Alameda and get a firsthand look at how the bread is made. Of course, we are almost experts ourselves these days! We will leave school about 12 and return at 2ish. Permission slips will come home soon. If you want to drive and join us, look ahead at your schedule!
A note to the parents who volunteered to cut pillow fabric: many, many thanks but you’re off the hook. It was all completed by Stephanie, a parent who helps in class every week. I’ll let you know when there is another time consuming project that is better done by many hands. Thanks for offering and thanks to Stephanie!
A reminder: no school for students on Monday, February 1. Teachers are having a professional development day.
Our Oratorical Fest is this Thursday at 10:15. Our class is performing a short poem but I do not know where we fall in the program. It is about being anything you want to be. After the poem, each student will tell the audience what he or she wants to be when all grown up!
More wool dyeing this week, data and graphs in math, the regular in reading and writing. In science, we continue with animals and plants, investigating habitats specifically.
Stay dry!
