Welcome to my class website! I was born, raised, and educated in the Empire State of New York. I received both a B.S. and Masters in education at SUNY universities. Although I am very family- orientated and proud of the work ethic I developed back East, the Bay Area is definitely the best fit for me. It was not until October of 2011 that living in sunny California became a reality, and I have never been happier! For two years before coming to Crocker (2012-2014), I taught fourth grade in Richmond, California. I also volunteered as a youth soccer coach for grades K-2 during my work in Richmond. Before teaching fourth grade, I spent three years co-teaching a K-3 inclusion classroom in Central New York. In my free time, I prefer to be outdoors playing soccer and other sports including tennis and bocce ball. I grew up skiing and snowboarding in the Adirondack Mountains. Unfortunately, I have not made it to the Rockies yet, but I have had the opportunity to shred the Sierra Nevada! California’s produce is reason alone to move west. I am very excited to learn/work in the Crocker Highlands School Garden. Today, hands-on learning is a rarity in public education, and I am delighted to work in a progressive school community such as ours.
